HIKING

There are hiking routes in the wider area of Southeastern Pelion. These include Milina – Lavkos, Platanias – Milina, Promyri – Platanias, Lavkos – Platanias, and many other scenic paths.

Pelion has over 500 kilometers of paths connecting its 24 villages. The old network, known as “Pelion paths,” is now marked. It offers routes of different difficulty levels, from easy walks to challenging hikes.

KAYAKING

Kayaking happens on the beautiful beaches of Southeastern Pelion. The base is Platanias beach and the nearby beaches of Kastri and Mikro. There are organized kayak routes that let you explore coastal caves and steep Aegean shores not accessible by land. CAVE EXPLORATION

Cave exploration takes place in the beautiful “CENTAUR CHIRON” cave in Mouresi village in Eastern Pelion. From Platanias, we reach the cave by car in one hour. The cave has historical and mythological value. According to tradition, the wise Centaur Chiron lived here. He taught many ancient heroes. The cave has impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The tour includes information about the geological and mythological importance of the site.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mountain biking takes place on beautiful forest roads in the wider area of Southern Pelion. There are routes from 10 kilometers to 40 kilometers of varying difficulty. The paths cross dense forests of chestnut, beech, and plane trees, offering a unique nature experience. There are businesses that provide bikes for rent and organize trips with experienced guides who know the area well.

CLIMBING

Climbing lessons for beginners and advanced climbing take place at the climbing area on Mikro beach in Platanias. There are more than 25 routes ranging from 15 to 50 meters in difficulty. The area is internationally recognized for its rock quality and unique view of the Aegean. It’s suitable for both beginners and experienced climbers. The area operates under the supervision of certified instructors.

HORSE RIDING

For those who love nature and want to enjoy its beauty up close, there are horse riding lessons. The riding centers in the area offer routes through traditional villages, forests, and beaches. There are options for all experience levels. Full moon night rides during the summer months are especially popular.

All lessons and activities are conducted by experienced instructors with complete safety. Finally, there is the possibility to combine two or more activities in a day trip in the wider area.

FISHING

Platanias is a traditional fishing village and is ideal for fishing. So fishing enthusiasts can enjoy their hobby here. Boats are available for rent. You can also join organized expeditions with local fishermen who share their knowledge of the best spots and techniques.
